| Regarding the Strange Sounds Relating to the Stabilizer Link Rod |
Recently there has been an increase in the number of vehicles with the stabilizer rod passing through the link rod (beneath the stabilizer link rod), to attach to the shock absorber. For this reason, if the stabilizer link rod can no longer be used because of the ride height, exclusive parts are included.
For stabilizer link rods, there are types that do not differ in compatibility from left or right sides for some vehicles. The diagram shows a stabilizer link rod, for the HONDA FIT (GD1), looking for straight above, and you can see that the installation angles for the left and right sides are different. Other models such as the MOBILIO (GB1), AXELA (BK3P), DEMIO (DY5W), CELICA (ZZT231) etc have different installation angles for the left and right sides.
Recently there have been some cases where strange noises were heard because the stabilizer link rods were attached to the wrong side. If mistakenly installed, the incompatibility and abnormal condition can be felt in most cases. But because the stabilizer link rods can be mistakenly installed, there are also cases when the mistake is not detected.
If mistakenly installed, the stabilizer link rod will suffer from unthinkable amount of force, the ball joint will become damaged, and abnormal sounds will be heard. Both stabilizer link rods will have to be replaced so please be very careful when installing the stabilizer link rod. For more information, please refer to the userfs manual. |
